Layered with Love: Taco Lasagna with Cheesy Basil Filling

This cozy, cheesy casserole is the best of both worlds—classic lasagna comfort layered with Tex-Mex flair. Think seasoned beef, spicy green chiles, and rich tomato basil sauce, paired with an herb-loaded ricotta filling and plenty of melty cheese. One dish, endless flavor.

Lasagna Ingredients

Swap the ground beef for spicy ground chorizo or add a dash of chipotle powder to the sauce for smoky depth. You could also use Cool Ranch Doritos crumbled between the layers for a crunchy surprise!

Tips for Success

Use oven-ready noodles – No boiling means less prep and easier layering.

Grate your cheese fresh – It melts better and gives that gooey finish.

Let it rest – 10–15 minutes after baking helps everything set for clean slices.

Don’t skip the basil – It brightens the cheesy filling beautifully.

Make-Ahead & Storage

Make-Ahead Instructions:

Assemble your lasagna a day in advance and cover tightly. Refrigerate and add 10 extra minutes to the bake time if cooking straight from the fridge.

Storing Leftovers:

Store slices in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
